EXSL is a collaboration between South African designer Stiaan Louw, and French graphic designers/image makers Exterface (Julien & Stéphane), all 3 being the creative forces behind the brand since 2016. Our creative team is entirely responsible for all the design and imagery. The brand name itself is an acronym of Exterface (EX) and Stiaan Louw (SL).

All our products are exclusively made-to-order in our Cape Town studio, in South Africa. Unlike brands purchasing from pre manufactured suppliers and selling it at a mark-up we produce all designs from start to finish designed by our team. Each item is laid out, cut by hand, and assembled without mechanized processes, all in house. This prevents waste and assures that each item is checked at all times to meet strict quality controls.

We keep our packaging and labelling to a minimum to not add to unnecessary waste between our brand and our customers, our ultimate focus is the quality of our designs.

Any order placed in our store can take between 14 to 30 business days to be processed (public holidays or weekends excluded), since this is an in-house, fully handmade-to-order production. Since this is not a mass-production, please note that this is an indicative time period, delays can still occur due to many factors: the size of the order, the fact that we rely on specific suppliers (our crystals are from Austria and the Czech Republic for instance), as well as precise quality controls, etc.

There is no cancellation after 24 hours once an order has been placed. 

Absolutely! All our parcels are exclusively shipped and handled by DHL Express all over the world, with a tracking number sent in the confirmation email. Shipping rates may vary depending on the destination country. Once the parcel is shipped, customers are responsible of their package’s effective delivery as well as any additional tax and duties that may apply at destination.

Regarding any issues with a parcel at destination, please refer yourself to the tracking number provided in the confirmation email, and get in touch as fast possible with DHL locally. EXSL cannot be liable for lost, stolen or damaged parcels. 

Clothing items: hand-wash in cold water, dry on a flat surface, use a cool iron if necessary or steam.

Swimsuit: we use high quality lycras made specifically for swimwear. to retain the color add a small amount of salt to cold water and rinse. Do not bleach or use heavy detergents

Accessories: our accessories comprise of stainless steel, sterling silver and other base metals with LED crystals from the Czech Republic and Austria. Wipe crystals with a dry cloth. Remove jewelry attachments from garments where possible before washing the textile component.

All orders are final and non returnable for hygiene purposes and due to their made to order nature.
